Adapted from a backing track I got from Mike Bennett a few years ago.
I speeded up his backer to meet a slowed down version of this classic jig I had worked out.
Using mikes 4/4 backer this version is presented in an Americana soft rock package.
Jig melody played on MIDI keyboard using Magix Strings for the violin.
Willie Colemans jig
Also known as An Lurgadán, Foynes, Lurgadán, Mice In The Cupboard, The Moate Hunt, Ollie Reilly, Sheep On The Moor, Whillie Colemans, Whillie Colemans, Willie Colemans, Willy Colemans.
Originally suited to tin whistle and flute, it also lends itself to the fiddle
It is an oft' varied tune that seems to fit many timings like 3/4, 6/8, and in this case 4/4 which gives it a bit of an Americana vibe.
