For the May 2011 CBC Southern Rock party. Mike Bennett and I celebrating Southern music with a few of our favorite riffs.
A celebration of all those great open ended Southern Rockers of the 60's 70's & 80's.
the arrangement consists of 2 drummers (whistling their breaks to the band),
2 bassists, a B3 organ,
and 6 guitars locked in blazing rhythm chops and solo harmonies.
Mike Bennett came up with the chords and arrangement.
I picked the pace, and programed the drum & bass tracks then started layering on rhythm tracks with my Carvin acoustic & solid body electrics.
After sending the backing to Mike he grabbed two of his Strats and added some more rhythm chops and a classic solo with each from start to finish.
and for a nice touch Mike also did some B3 organ chords using his Akai MPK-49 for the ending section.
I then added guitar harmonies, counterpoints, and coda solos to round out the mayhem.
Thanks for the inspiration and classic Southern soloing Mike!
