As I got older I started understanding Zappa, and appreciating his writing.

Nice one. Zappa always had a unique way of seeing things /hearing things and this exemplifies that. Well played.

Fantastic guitar ballad Michael - the 9/4 gives it that resounding capture that each measure has it's own beginning and end. Great riff magic :)

Wow! This is great Michael.
I really like the sounds you got here and your playing is fantastic! Im really not that familiar with Zappa, i've only heard some bits here and there, and i know Vai used to work with him. But if his music is as good as this i have to check out more. :)
Excellent work Michael.
Thanks for sharing!

Over the years I've listened to a lot of different kinds of music, but for some reason I've not heard a lot of Zappa stuff. This track was an education for me and has certainly made me want to check out more of his work. Sensational guitar work and wonderful backing tracks.

Wow, you weren't kidding when you had a Zappa thing up. Fantastic! The little backing details and the sound and feel are all here - a stunning tribute.
The original has what I feel is Zappa's best and most emotive guitar playing so I can't imagine tackling such an intimidating piece. Well, I suppose it would be worse to try Black Page no.1 since I'm horrible behind a drum kit, heh.
That '68 sounds so nice... Very, very well done Michael!!

So, Mike... thanks to Mike, now I know :). Now, see, this is a case where I'm a little bothered about the "5 stars across the board" ratings I get for songs I feel deserve about 2 and a half... and I'd be happy with that!. A truly wonderful job, and I wish those stars were bigger for this one because every one of them is so very well deserved! Suzie Creamcheese? may I have this dance?

Just the very thought of covering a Zappa song is daunting beyond belief. You've more than nailed it. My days, this is beyond exceptional.
